Practice of the Day-
BB pg 89-
Ch 7- Working With Others:
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from drinking as intensive work with other alcoholics. It works when other activities fail. This is our twelfth suggestion: Carry this message to other alcoholics! You can help when no one else can. You can secure their confidence when others fail. Remember they are very ill.
Life will take on new meaning. To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends-this is an experience you must not miss. We know you will not want to miss it. Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives.

-Tom- “PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE “, those are words that really got my attention. Not theories, lectures or something that “might work” told to me by someone who I didn’t know and wasn’t like me.
This practical experience was given to me by folks just like me, except they were staying sober, living and relatively happy along the way. Why would I not at least attempt this way of Life and see if it would work for me?
Notice it does say “insure immunity from drinking”. Would that be something I would like to have? You bet, absolutely.
My sponsor said I could have it if I did “intensive work with other alcoholics.
That means time with other alcoholics outside of my normal “list of what I have to do to stay sober”. I have to put in the extra work and help another man to achieve sobriety.
I pray that today I have the Willingness to work intensely with other alcoholics.
