Our Real Problem
We alcoholics want to not drink, drug addicts want to not use drugs, overeaters want to stick to a diet. The list goes on and on of what we who suffer from addictions think the problem to be. We have very little understanding of our real problem. We see the results from the problem and mistake then to be the problem, but in recovery we find out that these are but the symptoms of our illness and just the results of having it. The problem is much different from all these different symptoms, but it's solution is the same for all who suffer from it. Until the day science can find a medical solution all we have is this program of recovery, founded by sufferers for those who suffer. That's it, there really isn't anything else that works as well on the illness as the program does. One of the key reasons for its success is that it addresses the real problem that's causing all these symptoms.
