SPIRITUAL STRUGGLES

We all have times where we are struggling. The world and our human nature pulls us into doing something we know we shouldn’t. We decide why not. Why not give into sin one more time? Why not do what everyone else is doing? Why not feel good temporarily to make the hurt go away? Why not? Because God tells us not to give into sin. He tells us to depend on Him when we are tempted. He tells us in order to be holy we have to turn from our worldly wants.

Deuteronomy 28:9 “If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we want to be obedient to You every day. We want to obey You morning, noon and night. Help us to turn away from evil and do good. Show us how to live in peace and help others to do the same. We know You want us to do right and turn from evil. We want to walk in Your ways and be holy as You have called us to be. We give ourselves to You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are having struggles to do right, God can help.

God wants us to seek Him in all we do. He can help us make the right decisions when we are tempted.

God’s word is what we need to use when we are struggling to do what is right.

If we want God to help us, we have to make the decision to obey Him and follow His word.

God wants us to turn from evil and do good. He wants us to strive for peace and not wrath.

1 Peter 3:11-12a “Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.” (NLT)

Focus: When we are struggling, we should obey God. Do what is right. Seek peace. Only He can make us holy.
