Little Children
Little Children
"Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matt. 19:14 Have you stopped to watch a child lately? Next time the opportunity arises, stop and watch. Observe closely and see what Jesus was trying to get across to his disciples. Children have a special vibrancy: they see the good and the excitement in every situation. The small and seemingly insignificant things that surround them thrill them. They have a real joy for living! They are also very needy. They are dependent on their parents for food, clothing, shelter and emotional support. So it is with those who are truly the LORD's. They are totally dependent on the Father for all their needs. They depend on Him in all areas of their lives. With this total abandonment to Him, there comes a real joy for Christians. This joy lets them see the good in all situations because they know they can trust their Father. There is a wonder at how the world works with God in control. Let us become as little children. Let us have that same vibrancy and joy in our Christian walk. Let us, as little children, depend solely on the Father to fulfill our needs that we might belong to the kingdom of heaven. Father; help us to be as little children. So often we feel grown up and try to do things on our own, but we know that you desire for us to be totally dependent on you. We are so needy, but only in you can our needs be truly satisfied. Help us to live lives that are innocent and pure as a little child. We know that it is only through total abandonment to you that we can possess that same excitement and joy those little ones exude. Help us to let go of our desire to grow up too fast; keep us as little children, totally dependent on you. Amen Quiet Waters
