Default Topic of the Week, Words that begin with "M"

M is for Money. It doesn't buy you sobriety. Money is a big trigger for most people. The gifts of the program are priceless. They are free, it is a good thing that you paid the price before you got to the doors of recovery.

M is for Moment. Live in the day and sometimes that means, living in the moment.

We don't stop for ever, we stop just for today, and in the moment, we pick up the tools of recovery as we need them.

We encounter people, places and things that frustrate us, annoy us, test our patience, but God is just a prayerl. Take time to meditate and listen for His answers. He does care. He meets out needs. We live in the moment, and it is much easier to handle life on life's terms with His Good Orderly Direction.

M is for Me. My disease gives me a 'me' syndrome. It is about me, myself, and I.

Did you ever think, "After me, you come first." Recovery is about taking me out of shame and blame. First things first is my sobriety, with it I don't have me. A healthy me, even though I suffer from chronic fatigue, pain, I still don't have to abuse me and others, by allowing my disease to creep back into my life.

M is for More. I am so grateful that I didn't miss the boat and found this new way to live. My God and my relationship with Him is so much deeper, and I have so much more awareness of His Glory, Grace, Forgiveness, and He is much more than I was told He was and so much more than I imagined Him to be.

More has a new meaning in today. It means "Spend more time with God." Before, I ran away in fear, so glad my program showed me the way to faith to replace that fear.

M is for Mind. Are you of sound mind and body? It is surprising how many things popped up into my head when I had nothing around any more to stuff them down. My body had a whole lot of aches and pain, and didn't know that it could be pain mental, emotional, and spiritual issues making themselves known physically.

Some say it is only "Mind over matter!" It doesn't happen that way. You need a spiritual solution to mend and heal.

M is for Minimum. What we put into it is what we get out of it. If we only put minimum effort into our recovery, it shows. They say all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed. How much more rewarding is faith just a little bit bigger, a seed that can be nurtured and allowed to grow.

Recovery is a living program. I would like more, what ever my God chooses to give to me. A minimum amount of gratitude sets me up for a relapse.

M is for Mix. They say mix business with pleasure. In that mixture, remember to add some recovery tools, take the Steps and Traditions and utilize them outside of the rooms of recovery.

Find a balance between recovery, home, work, and the community and mix it up and walk spiritually to stay clean and sober.

M is for Meetings. Meeting makers make it. They suggested 90 meetings in 90 days. This to my understanding, means look for a home group and a sponsor. It doesn't mean you can stop going to meetings.

We don't just go for ourselves, by going there, you carry the message to others especially the newcomers. You don't have to be a newcomer to need a meeting.

When in doubt, get yourself all dressed up and go to a meeting.

M is for Moment. It is one day at a time, but sometimes it is moment by moment. Hang out with a friend! Be in the moment and enjoy it.
