Default Sponsee's Lament

Sponsee's Lament

Said the sponsee to his sponsor
while working his steps one night,
"I keep following your suggestions,
but something's still not right.
I keep relapsing, my life's chaotic,
in fact, its a living hell."
Said the sponsor, "maybe those addicts were right
when they said I shouldn't sponsor myself!"

the meat of this story is sad, but true. he had a fool
for a sponsor---now how about you?

Not sure I would call him/her a fool. Perhaps you have outgrown them or you just haven't got to where they are at and not willing to take the next Step, look at the Traditions, or go to meetings.

Sometimes, you just don't click with someone and you need a new sponsor for where you are at. That doesn't make you or your sponsor a fool.
