Default Out With the Old, In With the New

Out With the Old, In With the New

Guess what is new? Everything if you have given your life to Jesus Christ! The old things have passed away. Christ has made all things new. He has put away the oppression, lifted the burdens, removed the stains, and erased the guilt. In Him you are a new creation. You have freedom, peace, eternal life, and love everlasting! You are no longer bound to the law. Now you enjoy the liberty restored through the Lamb of God. In Him you live a new life full of the promises of the King of Glory.

Are you living each day as a new creation in Christ? Are you celebrating His victory? If not, this is the perfect time to claim Christ’s gift to you. Leave behind the negativity, excuses, and baggage of the old you. You do not need to carry on with the past. You have no use for the old ways and old life style. You have a new life; one with purpose and promise. Live abundantly. Live passionately. Live fully.
Enter the New Year with a joyful heart embracing life in Jesus Christ.

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Revelation 21:5

We are reborn when we come into recovery. Letting go of the old to make room for the new. Have heard so many times, I have been doing things this way for so many years, it has always stood me in good stead. If it is that old, perhaps it is time for change.

I heard someone on the elevator the other day saying they would like to be 21 again, knowing what they know now. I use to think that way. There is no way I want to relive my life, even knowing what I do now. It is the past, it is who and what brought me to be the person I am in today.

As someone says, if you had no troubles and trials, how would you appreciate joy and happiness in today. If everything was handed to us on a silver platter, what a selfish, self-centered person we would be. The same applies to those in recovery as well as to those still living in their dis-ease.

In recovery I found love, forgiveness, caring, sharing, blessings, acceptance, and so much more, things that I didn't know was available to me. The old tapes that played, told me I wasn't worthy. I believed because they came from my parents, my teachers, my bosses, and the church.

The freedom of recovery allows me clarity, open mindedness, perception, reality, and so much more. It is so important to walk your talk. Don't say something and do something else. It is a 24 hour a day program, take your recovery out of the meeting rooms and bring it home, to your job, and to your community.
