If our way was working for all of us none of us would ever be here in recovery but it's not, and as hard as that is to accept for all of us it's even harder for us all to accept that now that we're in recovery we're all supposed to believe that there's some other way we can live that's better for us. This in itself can be a bigger problem for all of us than what has brought all of us to recovery, but it doesn't have to be. If we're willing to open our minds up to new ideas, and then even more importantly to let others think what they want, without us becoming negative towards them, then we will all be giving ourselves half a chance at being able to make it in recovery. Put simply, recovery is a set of principles that, when lived by anyone, can become a better way to live by then when we were all trying to live without them. Our real difficulty for all of us is giving ourselves the chance to live by these principles because most of us will keep on trying to live by what we know isn't working. As soon as we all can start to live by these principles found in recovery then all our lives will become much better then they were for any of us before.
