God Will Carry You
God Will Carry You Read Isaiah 46:1 through 49:26 In the popular poem, “Footprints in the Sand,” the author describes a dream in which a person observed two sets of footprints while walking with God along a beach. As the person looked the two sets of footprints become only one. Saddened at the thought of the Lord leaving during trials, the person questioned the Lord about this. He replied, “During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.” “Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you” (Isaiah 46:3–4). In contrast to gods carved from wood or stone that have to be carried by those who create them, the Lord God sustains and carries us. As the Good Shepherd, He carries the lost sheep safely home in His everlasting arms. Thought for Today: When you can no longer make it own your own, God will carry you. Quicklook: Isaiah 46:1–4
