Default What's In Our Hearts

WHAT'S IN OUR HEARTS

The busiest time of year is upon us. There will be shopping to do, food to prepare and parties to attend. Sometimes we get so busy we forget about the reason we are doing these things. This is not the time of year to try to buy the best gift. This is not the time of year to shop and get aggravated at everyone in the stores. This is not the time of year to be anxious about all there is to do. This is the time of year to show others what is in our hearts, to share God's goodness and to influence others by the godly things we do.

1 Peter 2:9 "But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to remember this time of year is to show Your goodness, mercy and love to others. Remind us to slow down when we get too busy. Help us to cool off when we get upset. Show us how to share Your love and goodness with others from our sincere hearts rather than trying to find the best present for them. Help us to have the right attitudes and actions this Christmas season so we are living for You, helping others and giving You all the glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we put God first in our lives, others will see Jesus in us.

Whatever we put in our minds will flow out of our hearts.

People need to see the love of God in us - especially this time of year.

God wants us to fill our minds with His goodness so we can share that goodness with others and be a godly influence to them.

When we fill our minds with God's word, others will see Him in our hearts.

Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." (NKJV)

Focus: God is good and wants us to keep Him in our hearts and His word in our minds so we can share His goodness with others.
