So we think we got it all figured out so well that we end up being in a program for recovery. That's reality for those of us in recovery. You'll hear it said in our recovery meetings that our best thinking is what got us here. Maybe that's what this is all about we're here to figure something out, and if that's so, I think none of us even begin knowing what that is. One thing for sure: we only have a certain amount of time to do it as long as our bodies will last. It could be that after we have figured all this out is when we leave here, or it could be possible that when we decide we're not going to try to figure it out we leave as well. Before recovery I think most of us had stopped trying to figure it out, and that is what is meant by our best thinking getting us here. In recovery we are able to begin again to try to figure it all out. Who we really are and why we're really here. Maybe then we really find out what's next. We come and go all the time and no one is sure why any of this is happening. None of it makes any sense until we really try to figure out what it's all about.
