The actions we take in the program of recovery are intended to allow us to rethink how we think about ourselves, without exception this needs to be done. Most of us bring a recurring theme of negativity about ourselves along with us into our recovery and this sometimes proves to be harder to break than many of the other bad habits we brought with us. We proceed first by admitting on our own we don't have the resources needed to do this nor, what it takes to do this alone, then from there we come to understand it's a sign of strength not weakness to be able to ask for help in doing this, because this is not an easy thing to do and we'll need all the help we can get. Even with that we'll still be confronted with having to push aside many of the ways in which we think about ourselves. It's okay doing this because it's always worth doing. Once we're willing to proceed with doing this we'll get a new way of seeing ourselves. Afterwards, we'll be glad we did all that it takes to get that.
