Once we've begun recovery the first thing that's suggested we do is to have a good look at ourselves. This is because then we'll be able to see the damage that's been done to us as the result of having this problem and not doing anything about learning how to live with it. As painful as this may seem to be to have to do, it's important that we do this for without it we'll not have what we need to work on for ourselves to get better. And the whole process of recovery is based on our own willingness for wanting things to be better for ourselves. For most of us this may be the only reason that we'll ever come with on why we would want to do this, that makes sense in convincing ourselves to do this. Also it is helpful to know that when looking ahead at the rest of this process is that we find out what we can do about what we see about ourselves that we've all been trying to hide, and we all that didn't work. What a relief to finally think we could put all of this behind us and be able to move on to better things for ourselves. This is the first evidence to ourselves, of our own willingness to do whatever it takes to do that, and it starts to happen with a good look at where we are now, and a look ahead at what things could be like for us. All of us in recovery have had to do this and together we help each other do it in a loving, caring way.
