One of our old ideas that all of us bring with us into our recovery is that we have to do recovery perfectly in order for any of us to succeed. Recovery isn't about that at all, in fact it's completely opposite to this that of any of us having to live this way. We all fail at living life perfectly. It is the very essence of what it means to be human. We are not perfect, nor do we have to be in order for any of us to be in recovery. The whole process of recovery has been designed with this in mind, that we all learn better from us making mistakes then when we don't make any at all. Trial and error is how all of us learn when it comes to any of us being in recovery. And as long as all of us are putting ourselves out there every day with this in mind, that it's better for us when we make mistakes then when we don't, then none of us can ever really fail at being in recovery. And all of us we'll be able to continue our recovery and grow if we're able to do this. The only time that any of us can really ever fail at being in recovery is when any of us decide to go back to where we all came from and for us having to do things perfectly again. All of us have already proved to ourselves and to everyone else, that this didn't work for none of us
