To all of us in recovery it is startling to realize that what we're all afraid of is ourselves, because none of us would have ever believed this on our own. But this is true for all of us and it takes some time for us before we can see this for ourselves, that we are afraid of being who we are. We're all like this for many different reasons, but what matters the most for all of us is that this causes us all to be alike. Recovery shows all of us how we can get over being this way we all are of being afraid of ourselves when we do the things that it suggests we do is when most of us realize and get over this fear all at once. For all of us the things that hurt us the most that have been taken for us were not the things we could see, it was the things we couldn't see. We all knew something was missing but none of us knew what it was. We all now know what had been taken from all of us was our right to be able to trust ourselves, and none of us did this to ourselves. Someone else had taken this from us without us even knowing they had and this left us all the way we all are when we get here to being in recovery.
