We're all been very very sick when we all arrive at being in recovery, and we've all have done such a good job of fooling ourselves, that none of us are really ever aware of just how sick we all are. Some of us come to recovery with our own ideas about what we think recovery does to us. This usually has come from someone else who has never really been in recovery, and because they haven't, they really don't know what they're talking about when it comes to being in recovery, or do they have any real understanding of what recovery does, they think that they do, but they don't. Or have they themselves have ever experienced what recovery can do for anyone. None of us ever really know for sure exactly what recovery does for all of us, until we've all been in it and have gone through with the process ourselves, until then we all don't really know, and the only way we're all ever going to find this out for ourselves is if we let it happen. There's a whole lot of healing that's going on here in recovery that all of us need so very badly, and none of us know how to make this happen for ourselves. And if we all let someone else who doesn't know what they're talking about, and hasn't any real idea about what being in recovery is all about, keep any of us from being here, then we'll all be setting ourselves up for missing out on the very thing we all need to get well, and our one and only chance of getting it.
