Default hello there

Not sure how this works. I am having a hell of a time trying to quit this evil crack habit. Getting very discouraged.

Welcome to the site Sunflower. Crack is a deadly drug. I have sponsored girls who were addicted to it and it is my son's drug of choice.

For me it was about becoming willing. By signing in and posting here, you have taken the first step. Even if you don't have an understanding of a God, pray and ask for help and the doors will open. I went to meetings. I was told to go to 90 meetings in 90 days, I was so sick, when available, I did two meetings. I just didn't want to go back to where I came from. For me, it was a one day at a time thing. Each morning when I got up, I was pray and ask for help, and say, "Just for today, I choose not to use." We don't quit, we quit just for today, because our disease is cunning, baffling, and powerful.

The Serenity Prayer helped me, I found I couldn't wear it out.

God grant me the Serenity
To Accept the things I cannot Change
The Courage to change the things I can,
And the Wisdom to know the difference.

I couldn't change life, but I could change me. I no longer hung with my using friends, including my family, until I had built a firm foundation. I went to meetings, and talked and listened to others who had been where I had been. I was no longer alone.

I hope and pray, you will continue to have a desire to quit. There is a lot of material here on the site, and if it says alcohol, food, or some other substance, substitute the word 'crack' or to detach from it, say my drug. My drug became the god of my life.
