Forgive and Show Gentleness
There are times when others do wrong to us intentionally. We may not know the reason. Then there are times when others do something unintentional and we feel betrayed. They may not have meant to do it but it still hurts. What do we do when others hurt us? When others do wrong to us, we are to forgive them as Jesus forgives – over and over again – seventy times seven. When we choose to forgive, we can show gentleness to others as God has called us to do. Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to him and asked, ‘Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?’ ‘No, not seven times,’ Jesus replied, ‘but seventy times seven!’” Dear Lord, help us to remember to forgive and show gentleness even when others intentionally do wrong to us. Help us to remember to forgive and show gentleness to those who sin against us seventy times seven as Jesus has called us to do. We may grow tired of their repeated actions and words against us but we know we are called to forgive and show gentleness to them. Help us to be strong and obedient as You call us to be. In Jesus name. Amen. We are to forgive seventy times seven as Jesus has commanded us to do. When we are spending more time with God, it is easier to forgive those who sin against us. Showing forgiveness and gentleness toward others who have wronged us is what God calls us to do. When others do wrong to us, we are to forgive them. Every time. When we meditate on God, it is easier to forgive others. Psalms 119:26-27 "I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees. Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds." (NLT) Focus: Think about God. Meditate on His word. Be ready to forgive and show gentleness to those who hurt you today. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...d=FRANCESLUCAS

God forgave me, why should I feel that I can't forgive others.
I need to be gentle with myself, I always beat myself up and took on all the blame and took on things that were not mine. As they say, I am where I am at, as a result of decisions made. Often I set myself up to be hurt, and I found that I put expectations on others who were not able to meet them, and when I was rejected or things didn't turn out my way, I was hurt. Always tried to put my feet in other peoples shoes and try to get an idea as to where they came from. I can't walk in their shoes, but I can find some understanding and some compassion, to go with the forgiveness.
