Default Having another holiday

and not using it as another excuse to get drunk!!!
Every holiday before I got sober was just another excuse to drink big time because "I had to celebrate and party"!! Having a holiday just justified it more.
Now its great to be sober and spend the holiday with family and friends and be present.....not passed out or unable to remember what happened at the family party!!

I generally missed the party or didn't go. I would drink because I didn`t get asked to the party. I didn't need an excuse, but I sure made up a lot of them.

So true Jo...towards the end of my drinking no one wanted to be around me. However, I didn't really care...I stayed home and got drunk by myself, then passed out. Though St. Patricks Day was "the biggest party of the year"...for me. I act stupid, then pass out, and not remember what I said or did.
