Smile

I give the gift of my smile to everyone I meet.

On this International Smile Day, I am reminded a smile can lift the spirits of someone who is feeling down. It can be the spark that changes someone’s day from ho-hum to joyous.

A smile is much more than the look on my face. It is a gift to myself as well as others. Just deciding to smile, even if I don’t feel particularly happy, can change my outlook. Starting the day with a smile is advance gratitude for the wonderful day ahead.

We spread our joy by smiling at others. A smile is contagious. Just as deciding to smile lifts me up, sharing my smile brightens the day of everyone I encounter. I am glad to keep the happiness going.

You have multiplied the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest.—Isaiah 9:3
