Believe In God's Word

BELIEVE IN GOD’S WORD

We all have something or someone we believe in. We may put our faith in someone who is close to us. We may believe or put our hope in something material. However, we will never truly have the life intended for us until we believe completely in God. We need to believe His word and choose only Him. We need to have discernment about what to believe. We need to believe God’s word and not man’s. We are to stay in His word and seek His word for direction because it is alive and powerful and true!

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you know about God’s word.
2. List ways you prove what others say about God to be true.
3. Know staying in God’s word daily will help you better know Him.
4. Remember to read His word and encourage others to do the same.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know we only need to believe in You and Your word. You are all we need. Help us to remember to stay focused on You and Your word today. Remind us to believe only in You and not stray to the ways of the world. We know life can get frustrating and confusing at times. But we know when we keep our eyes on You, You will give us all we need. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We need to remember God’s word came from God and not man. His word is for our own benefit and comfort and salvation.

2 Peter 1:20-21 “Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” (NLT)

God’s word is written so we may know Him and believe in His plan and His power and His love.

John 20:31 “But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.” (NLT)

John 1:1 “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (NLT)

FOCUS: Philippians 3:8 “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ” (NLT)
