Matthew 23:11-12 — The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. __________________________ Jesus challenges society's norms. To him, greatness comes from serving — giving of yourself to help God and others. Service keeps us aware of others' needs, and it stops us from focusing only on ourselves. Jesus came as a servant. What kind of greatness do you seek? ***** Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries." —Daniel 2:27-28 ***** 1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. ***** Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. ***** Psalms 1–41 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. ***** Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37 ***** Psalm 16:1-2 (NIV) - Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” ***** Pray for me as I pray for you. "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." Philippians 4:6 ***** Matthew 21:21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
