Making an amend isn't saying I am sorry. It is about making a change within us so we don't continue acting out in our disease. Addiction is a disease. The only way to control it is to have a daily reprieve, through the help of the God of our understanding.
We need to build a relationship with our God. He will direct our path. Then through the changes that manifest themselves in us, we are able to go to the people we feel we owe an amend to, not saying 'I am sorry;' but promising not to doing it again. We amend our ways and change our attitude so we are able to handle life on life's terms. We no longer have to hit back at others, in our own guilt and remorse. We have found a new way of life. See this NA reading on the subject of 'I'm Sorry.' http://www.bluidkiti.com/forums/show...?t=1950&page=3
