Overwhelmed and Exhausted

OVERWHELMED AND EXHAUSTED

When we are tired, really tired, to the point of exhaustion, we can easily get overwhelmed. Sometimes the slightest issues can be blown out of proportion when we are tired. Sometimes just one word can make us get upset when we are tired. Sometimes just one person who does something we don’t like can make us angry when we are tired. When we are overwhelmed with exhaustion, we need to go to God and He will give us rest.

Matthew 11:28 “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us when we are tired not to get angry or upset with others. Help us to seek You for peace and for rest. Our physical bodies need Your rest. Our minds and emotions need Your peace. We can’t get this on our own because we don’t know how to get the rest and peace that only You can give. Remind us when we are tired to turn to You in prayer and to turn to Your word for comfort so we can be the godly example You have called us to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are tired, we need to look to God to be refreshed rather than seeking the things of the world.

God wants us to come to Him when we are tired so He can give us rest.

No matter how tired we are. No matter what kind of day we have had. God is always ready to refresh us and make us new again.

Seeking out things in the world when we are tired to help us will only create more exhaustion.

Isn’t it wonderful that God never grows tired or weary and is always here for us to give us strength?

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (NLT)

Focus: Know God can help you when you are overwhelmed with exhaustion and He can give you peace.
