When I was new in recovery, and I found that I wasn`t alone, I kept thinking of all the wasted time, the wrong choices, the decisions I made that were not good for me or my family, I felt a lot of guilt, false pride and false responsibility.

I was told that I had to go through what I went through to get to where I am in today. It lightened the load. It allowed me to be grateful that I could share my journey with others. It allowed me to give thanks to my God for seeing me through it all.

I had to rout out the old and cut a new path that led to recovery. The old route seemed familiar and safe, when in truth, it led me away from my God.l
