It's Not What We Thought
Our problem is not what all of us have thought it was. This problem is something else that none of us knew about, and by ourselves none of us are able to see that we have it. That's why all of us need to be in recovery so we can. We can spend as much time as we like trying to correct what was happening to all of us as the result of having this problem, but until we address the problem itself, what's actually wrong with us, none of us are going to be able to make any head way in solving having this problem, so that we're all able to find some way of living with it. What we have to realize is that this problem itself is not at all that difficult to solve, but us seeing that we have it and accepting that we do, is extremely difficult for all of us who have it. In recovery all of us can see this problem for what it is in everyone else very easily, but not in ourselves unless we learn how to become honest with ourselves. This is where the problem has the upper hand with all of us, because it uses our own pride against us, so that we aren't able to do this on our own, to be honest with ourselves, keeping all of us in the dark about what our problem really is.
