All Of Our Life
In recovery we learn about the value of being able to live our life a day at a time, and as we go along doing this we'll all be brought into a new way of life that we become comfortable with, but none of us should ever close the door on our past, or it's likely that we'll find ourselves repeating that part again. All of our life is a continuing process from beginning to end, and all of it has a special meaning that's personal to each of us, and when any of us tries to shut off any part of it we lose what we have gained from that part and it's likely for us to have to go back repeat that part again. The best thing for any of us who are in recovery to do is not to shut the door on our past, but not to live in it either. We do this by living one day at a time and never forgetting where it is that we came from. No matter how hard any of us wishes that the past has never happened it will still always be part of us and choosing not to close the door on it what has happened to us, allows all of us to get the most out of it, and when we use this to help someone else who is where we used to be we'll be doing just that.
