Speak To Influence

SPEAK TO INFLUENCE

How many times have we regretted what we said or did? There are possibly too many to count. Many of us, yes even believers, say things we shouldn't say. The words sometimes come out in the heat of the moment. Sometimes the words are misunderstood. Sometimes the words cut and hurt others so much that the damage is hard to repair. However, when we think and especially pray before we speak, Jesus can help us to speak words that will influence others rather than allowing Satan to control our words.

Jeremiah 15:19 "This is how the LORD responds: 'If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!'" (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today to practice what we say. Help us to say the right words that are uplifting and encouraging rather than words which are demanding or condescending. We know You have always said the right things and You are a great example to follow. Show us Your way so we can speak Your word and be a positive, godly influence to others. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God teaches us in His word to speak honestly and use our words to help others better know Him.

When we speak to others about what God has done for us, we can give Him all the glory in our words.

Praying and asking God what words we should say to others will help us be a better influence to them.

God can help us say what is right so we can be a positive influence to others.

When we are not influenced by what others think, we will say what God puts on our hearts to say.

Luke 20:21 "'Teacher,' they said, 'we know that you speak and teach what is right and are not influenced by what others think. You teach the way of God truthfully.'" (NLT)

Focus: When we speak to influence others, we are speaking good and encouraging words that let them know we belong to Jesus.
