What are we thinking about?
What are we thinking about?
SonLight Daily DevotionalDaily Devotional from the desk of Pastor Curt McComis Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things". What great wisdom there is in this verse. This verse should be thought on each day. Maybe we would truly be of fewer words. Our words would be much kinder and sweeter when thinking right thoughts. The problem many times is that our mouth is engaged while our brain is still in neutral. We speak and we say to ourselves "I ought not to have said this or that". Thinking is very important. If we can continually think on the negative side we will not be a pleasant person to be around. We will be sowing a negative attitude which causes a sense of worthlessness. This kind of thought is not from God but from the kingdom of darkness. This verse creates life, and action, along with happiness. The group that is sowing this type of thinking is people we would like to be around. They will be building us up in the Lord. They will impart an attitude of "We can do all things through Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:13. They will build us up in love. Their thoughts will be gracious, and kind, thinking only on a good report. Their only motive will be to share the love of Christ Jesus with us. They will only want to be a help to us that are hurting. We can all have a much better day when we are truly thinking in God's Holy word. Bible References (KJV) Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".
