Who'll Make It
Who'll make it in recovery and who won't is always a mystery to us and sometimes a shocker. Because of this when we're new we'd all like some kind of guarantee it's going to work for us, there is none. We never can really tell who's going to get it let alone if we'll be able to get it, but there is this, we know and have seen that those of us who stay close to recovery are less likely to fall off. If we're willing to keep recovery at the center of our own life we'll pretty much guarantee we'll make it, and likewise if we don't we won't. Our recovery is a fragile thing that's always coming under pressure from outside forces. We'll always need to protect our recovery by staying close to it and keeping it at the center of our lives. These outside forces will have very little effect on us if we do. It's when we get on the outer edges of recovery is when we're going to start to have trouble. That's when we can start to feel the pull of these forces pulling us back to where it is we're trying to get from. We need to know this, their pull can be strong enough to do to that.
