Precious Promises – Day 9 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: ETERNAL LIFE–EVERLASTING LIFE

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13 (KJV)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16 (KJV)

Today’s Thought:
“And this is the promise that He has promised us–eternal life.”
1 John 2:25(NKJV)

The Promise of Eternal Life or Everlasting Life (the word for both is the same in scripture) is for those who believe on and in the name of the Son of God, who is Jesus.

To believe means: to have trust, faith, or confidence that:

Jesus is the Son of God (John 3:16)
Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matt 1:21)
God raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 10:9)
Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25,26)
Jesus is the Way, Truth, Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
(John 14:6)

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God,

I Believe that Jesus is Your Only Son.
I Believe Jesus came to save His people from their sins.
I Believe that Jesus is the resurrection and the life.
I Believe in my heart that You, God, raised Jesus from the dead.
I believe in and on Jesus for Eternal life.
I believe that Jesus is now seated on Your right hand in heaven, God, interceding for me.
I do Believe and I claim this Promise of Eternal Life today!

Thank You for this wonderful gift of eternal life God!
In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Psalm 119:114 ‘You are my Refuge and my Shield; I have put my hope in Your Word.’

- The Lord is your Helper and Protector.
- He is your Refuge and a Shield around you.
- You can put your hope in Him and in His Word.
- May the God of all hope, fill you with hope, as you trust in Him.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that I can run to You and find the safety and security that I need. You are my source of hope, and that is why I will trust in You and in Your Word. Amen.

Kind Regards

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you." Isaiah 43:2

Today's scripture is a promise verse from God. We are familiar with the Israelites journey across the red sea and the river of Jordan. Just as how God was with them when they passed through these waters, He has promised to be with us also.

Here water represents turmoil or calamity or sudden danger or why not real water too! Whatever is the circumstances none of these waters can sweep over us. The waters may be too close, the rivers may seem too wild at times, the floods could overwhelm us, but remember these waters can never harm us. How can we say that for sure? Because that's exactly what our Lord has promised us.

King David sings in Psalms 29, "The LORD sits enthroned over the flood", which is true of any flood like situation too.

Let us repeat the verse to ourselves and claim it as our own today: When I pass through the waters, God will be with me; and when I pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over me. Amen!

Pray Anywhere

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! —Psalm 84:4

Once in the habit of spending time with God, you will miss these encounters if you start your day without talking and listening to Him. You can spend time with God anywhere, while doing anything—in the grocery store, or while cleaning house, for example. I have had great encounters with God while driving my car.

God is always listening for the sound of your voice calling out to Him. Develop a ready ear for His voice too. Whatever you have to do today, do it with the Lord. Acknowledge Him and talk to Him about everything. You will greatly enjoy His company.

From the book Starting Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer.

Breaking Free

Thought for the Day

"If you find yourself stuck in a rut, don't dig yourself deeper in with negative thoughts. Turn your thoughts to God, ask for His strength to sustain you, and keep your focus on the good things that lie ahead of you. By relying on God and keeping your thoughts positive, you'll be moving forward again before you know it."

Today's Prayer

Father, through You I have hope for the future. It is when I worry too much about where I am now that I feel stuck. Please help me get beyond what lies before me at this moment and begin to move forward towards the abundance You have in store for me. Amen.

Sleep On It by Seek Ye First the Kingdom

You may have heard the expression, “sleep on it,” used to recommend waiting overnight to make a decision. Often when presented with a dilemma that I cannot seem to solve, I will intentionally wait until the next morning to make the decision. I attribute the benefit of this to having a clearer mind after a night’s sleep.

However, Psalm 16:7 writes, “I will bless the Lord who counsels me; he gives me wisdom in the night and tells me what to do.” TLB

It could be that it is not only a good night’s sleep and a clear mind that help when waiting overnight; It may be that God is helping us with our decisions and dilemmas.

Dear Lord, when we trust you, you are with us in many ways. Help us remember to come to you with our challenges and you will provide us wisdom and guidance. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
