Why Argue?
WHY ARGUE?
Sometimes the words of others hurt us. It's possible that we want to respond back in a hurtful way so we can make them feel like they made us feel. But if we think about it, what does that really accomplish? In the Bible, we are told we are to speak only kind words to others. We are told not to waste time arguing with others. We are told to spend our time training ourselves to be godly. When we focus on God and His word, we will learn how to argue less and show love more. 1 Timothy 4:7 "Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly." (NLT) Dear Lord, help us to remember there is really no point in arguing with others. Help us to understand no matter what we are going through, we can respond in love. Help us to know despite how they treat us or what they say to us, we don't have to retaliate. We can respond as Jesus did. We can keep our focus on You. We can keep our faith in You and know You are always in control. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen. When we keep our focus on Jesus, He will help us to be kind to those who want to argue with us. Reading God's word and meditating on it will help us know how to respond to those who are against us. Despite how others treat us, we don't have permission to respond in anger or to argue with them. Showing others we are patient and kind even when they are out of control will help them see Jesus in us. We must be kind to all people. Even those who want to argue and stir things up. Matthew 5:47 "If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that." (NLT) Focus: Be kind to all people...even those who want to argue and disagree all the time. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=6215952
